Soap viewers believe they’ve worked out what unfolds as Emmerdale crosses over with Coronation Street for the first time.
Emmerdale viewers are convinced a dramatic storyline is about to hit Weatherfield, and it doesn’t look promising.
ITV recently confirmed that production has begun on the Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover episode, officially titled Corriedale.
This marks the first time the two ITV soaps have intertwined in such a way, bringing the residents of Greater Manchester together with their Yorkshire neighbours for an action-packed hour of drama.
Filming is already in progress and features an “ambitious stunt that will have lasting repercussions for everyone involved.”
While the specific characters taking part are being kept under wraps, sharp-eyed fans have already noticed some early crossovers, providing significant hints about who might be involved.
Emmerdale fans are now speculating that Ray Walters’ (Joe Absolom) drug operation could spill over into Weatherfield as part of an explosive county lines storyline following a major revelation.
Dangerous Ray has been coercing Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) and April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) into dealing drugs for several weeks. While the teenagers have tried to distance themselves from the operation, they remain under Ray’s control.
In a shocking twist, it was revealed that local farmer Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) has been orchestrating the drug operation carried out by Ray Walters.
It later emerged that Celia had taken Ray in after finding him homeless and has been manipulating him to carry out her orders and manage the criminal enterprise.
On Instagram, one fan commented: “I think it’ll be the drug storyline (from Emmerdale anyway). I hope I’m wrong and it features all the main characters.”
On X, another wrote: “It just hit me… the #Corriedale crossover has to focus on the county lines plot. With #Corrie set in Greater Manchester and #Emmerdale in Yorkshire, it’s the only storyline that literally crosses county lines, both geographically and criminally.”
A third added: “David Platt, Cassie Plummer, and Dr Liam Cavanaugh could appear in the crossover. This storyline is still speculative. “For the crossover, maybe Becky #Corrie is running Ray’s #Emmerdale drug gang #Swarla, and Lisa investigates,” speculated one fan.
Another added: “We know Becky had a difficult childhood and has been involved with gangs. What if Celia raised her like she did Ray, or had Becky working for her? #corrie #emmerdale #swarla.”
Corriedale is set to air on ITV, STV, ITVX, and YouTube in early 2026, kicking off the new “soap power hour” schedule, with each show broadcasting 30-minute episodes every weekday.
