Ray Walters and Celia Daniels’ time as Emmerdale villains may be coming to an end sooner than expected.
An Emmerdale villain could be poised to take down Ray Walters and Celia Daniels, as fans think they’ve spotted the murder weapon.
Viewers of the ITV soap will recall that drug dealer Ray (Joe Absolom) first arrived in the Dales earlier this year when Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) approached him about buying Lewis Barton’s (Bradley Riches) cannabis crop.
It later emerged that Ray had been manipulating young Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle), convincing him to break into Butler’s Farm to scope out the property.
Meanwhile, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has been drawn into a trap set by Ray and his sinister mother Celia (Jaye Griffiths), as she attempts to repay her boyfriend’s mounting debts.
The drama doesn’t end there — it’s also been revealed that Ray and Celia have been keeping Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) captive on their farm.
This week, the soap explored a tense development in the modern slavery storyline when Bear attempted to escape with his fellow captives, Mick (Leon Harrop) and Simo (Steven Gidwaney).
Just as Mick and Simo were about to flee, they were confronted by an enraged Ray, who had discovered their plan.
“I can’t believe you’d try this on us after everything we’ve done for you,” Ray fumed. He later revealed that it was Bear who had informed him about the escape attempt.
Now, many Emmerdale fans are speculating who might bring down Ray and Celia, with plenty suggesting that newcomer Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) could be the one to “murder” them.
Kev was introduced in September as Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) secret husband from prison. While he initially tried to settle into village life, he soon found himself slipping back into old patterns.
Kev notably pulled off a shop robbery in Hotten, making off with cash, jewellery, and even a samurai sword. On Thursday (November 27), a furious Kev briefly held Robert, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) hostage at The Mill before leaving the village.
Many fans now think he could return to take down Ray and Celia. One wrote on a Facebook fan page: “I would love it if Kev was the one to take out Celia and Ray.”
Another added: “Yeah, I reckon he’ll come back and could use his samurai sword on them,” while a third commented: “Yes, me too! I definitely see murder in the future.”
A fourth fan agreed, adding: “Exactly my thoughts — and with the samurai sword!”
Meanwhile, another viewer speculated: “Perhaps as he leaves the village, Ray or Celia will encounter him and bring him to the farm where Bear is being held.”
