“Emmerdale favourite Lisa Riley has received an outpouring of support from fans after sharing a heartwarming ‘baby’ update.
The actress rose to fame after joining the ITV soap in 1995 as Mandy Dingle — and it didn’t take long for her to become a fan favourite.
Over the years, Mandy has been at the centre of several major storylines, from her on-off romance with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) to her money troubles that even saw her turn to financial domination online.
Away from the Dales, Lisa has been happily loved-up with her American partner, Al, for more than a decade. The couple first met at a Strictly Come Dancing tour event in 2014 and became engaged four years later.”
“Recently, Lisa paid a sweet tribute to her ‘baby’ Al. The Emmerdale star took to Instagram to share several loved-up photos of herself and her musician partner as they celebrated his birthday. Alongside a few adorable selfies, Lisa also gave fans a glimpse of Al’s impressive travel-themed cake.
In the caption, she wrote: ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BABY! Me and all the family, Al, are wishing you endless love and laughter on your special day — so glad we had the most wonderful time celebrating yesterday. Today is all about you.’”
Lisa’s followers quickly flooded the comments with birthday wishes for her partner. One fan wrote: “Happy birthday, Al! Have an amazing day — I’m sure Lisa is treating you well.”
Another commented: “Happy birthday to your lovely man, hope he has the best day!”
A third added: “Happy birthday! That first photo of you both is absolutely gorgeous.”
Although Lisa and Al have been engaged for several years, the actress has openly explained why the couple has no plans to tie the knot.
She said: “If it’s not broken, why fix it? We’re perfectly happy the way things are. I adore the stunning ring Al gave me, but I’ve never been the type to dream of a big, over-the-top wedding with a horse and carriage.
“To be honest, that sort of thing just isn’t me. I’m not changing my name, so what difference would it really make? We already call each other husband and wife, and we’ve been together for nine wonderful years.”
