Emmerdale’s Lydia Dingle had fans buzzing after revealing a gorgeous new makeover

Emmerdale’s Lydia Dingle has unveiled a glamorous new look on the soap, and fans are loving it.

Lydia (played by Karen Blick) first appeared on the ITV series in 2016. Married to longtime soap favourite Sam Dingle (James Hooton), she has since become a firm fan favourite herself.

Over the years, the much-loved cleaner has faced her share of dramatic storylines, including a harrowing sexual assault ordeal.

In terms of romance, Lydia had short-lived relationships with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel), but ultimately settled down as a full member of the Dingle family.

Recently on the soap, Lydia has been keen to see her favourite pop star, Jason Donovan, in concert. However, when the Dingle household faced a major electricity problem, she had to use her ticket money to cover the repairs.

Despite this setback, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Sam were determined to get her the tickets. But after believing they had secured them, they discovered they had been scammed — and didn’t tell Lydia the truth.

In Monday’s episode (December 1), Lydia, believing she was about to see Jason in concert, excitedly tried on one of Belle’s dresses. Later, Sam and Belle had to break the news that she wouldn’t be going to the concert after all, leaving her both heartbroken and furious.

However, it was Lydia’s stunning new look in a glamorous dress that really caught fans’ attention. She swapped her usual comfy clothes for a chic, low-cut black outfit.

Reacting to Lydia’s makeover, one fan on an Emmerdale Facebook page commented: “Lydia looked lovely in tonight’s episode in that dress.” Another agreed: “I thought so too!” while a third added: “She looked stunning.”

Although Lydia didn’t get to attend Jason’s concert, the pop star will be making a cameo on the soap soon. Speaking about his appearance on Emmerdale, Jason Donovan said: “I’m incredibly excited to be making a cameo as myself.

“Filming was so much fun, and the cast and crew were incredibly welcoming. Singing on the Woolpack set was definitely an experience I won’t forget.”
