Did Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) Lie to Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) About Stopping Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) Hit?
Several clues in that scene seemed to suggest that Curtis might not have been truthful with Jordan, even though Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting appeared to be handled rather clumsily.
Clue One: No Flashback for Calling Off the Hit or Recalling the Wire
While the show used a flashback to show Curtis hiring Selina and arranging the deal, it did not show him canceling the hit or retrieving the wire payment. If the flashbacks revealed his planning of the hit on Drew, why didn’t they also show him stopping it? This omission doesn’t necessarily mean the assassin actually tried to carry out the hit—if they had, Drew would be dead.
It’s more likely that if Selina’s assassin ever got close to Drew’s house, it may have been after the person who actually shot him had already done so. The hit could have been abandoned because of the police presence or too many potential witnesses nearby, like Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) or Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).

Clue Two: Curtis’ Expressions and Body Language After His Initial Confession
The second clue lies in Curtis’ expressions and body language after his first confession to Jordan. She was shocked by what he admitted and worried about being implicated as an accomplice. After that tense exchange, Curtis “confessed” that he had gone back to the Savoy, called off the hit, and retrieved the wire transfer.
He explained that it had to be done through the same network as the original transaction. He also claimed he changed his mind because of the baby Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) is carrying—assuming it was his—and that he didn’t want a murder on his conscience.
However, once Jordan breathed a sigh of relief and he embraced her, Curtis’ facial expressions and body language seemed cold and distant, almost resigned.
Clue Three: Curtis Appeared Resigned to His Lie, Trying to Soothe Jordan
That cold, slightly frustrated, and resigned look in Curtis’ eyes as he hugged his ex-wife suggested he hadn’t wanted to lie—but felt he had no choice if he wanted to calm her and prevent her from doing the right thing and turning him in.
Remember, Jordan is both a DEA agent and the former Port Charles police commissioner, before Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) took over. Curtis needed to secure her support so she could vouch for him when he returned with legal counsel. After all, Detective Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) only let Curtis leave because he promised to come back with a lawyer.
