Rumors about a possible romance between Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) have left fans puzzled. Viewers aren’t sure whether a romance will happen, if it should happen, or whether it has already occurred.
Maurice Benard addressed the speculation himself, making it clear that Laura and Sonny are strictly friends. He emphasized, “I don’t think it should ever be anything beyond best friends.”
He added, “If you did that, it would kind of tarnish their relationship. Under different circumstances, maybe if Luke wasn’t involved, it could be possible—but there are too many negatives. Plus, Sonny has ADA Turner [Nazneen Contractor].”
Instead, it appears that Sonny will be spending more time with another character, Justine, in the coming weeks and months.
