General Hospital Spoilers: Surprise Return – Is It Kevin or Ryan?
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Jon Lindstrom is returning to Port Charles as Kevin Collins—or is it his sinister twin, Ryan Chamberlain? After a year away, Lindstrom is set to reprise the role starting December 2.
Home for the Holidays
Kevin has been absent from Port Charles since last December, with reports placing him in Dublin, Ireland. Now, Lindstrom is back just in time to get involved in the chaos surrounding Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Laura, freshly re-elected as Mayor of Port Charles, recently uncovered a dead man in her trunk—a man she had publicly threatened in the past.
She and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) worked to cover up Professor Henry Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) murder and the apparent framing of Laura. Kevin’s return could see him caught in the middle… or completely in the dark.
Jon Lindstrom and the LA–NY–ATL Hip-Hop Scene
Fans may know that Lindstrom has stayed active since leaving GH, noting on social media that he’s been “doing the LA–NY hip-hop”—or, more accurately, LA–NY–ATL hip-hop. Since February, he’s been portraying the villainous Joey Armstrong on Beyond The Gates at Fairmont Crest.
Playing antagonists is nothing new for Lindstrom. Long before Kevin or Joey, he first appeared in GH as Ryan Chamberlain, Kevin’s evil twin. Ryan’s reign of terror ended in 2023, leaving fans to wonder: is this really Kevin returning?
Balancing GH with Beyond The Gates
For Lindstrom, scheduling has been the biggest hurdle. Filming Beyond the Gates in Atlanta while returning to Port Charles has been challenging. “Finding the time has been quite tough,” he admits. He explains that leaving GH for Beyond The Gates wasn’t hard to decide: Kevin had become relatively inactive, appearing only once or twice a month. “I hadn’t seen him in a truly engaging storyline since Port Charles—unless Ryan was involved—so it was an obvious choice,” Lindstrom reflects.
He knew the BTG role would affect his GH appearances. “When I told Frank Valentini I’d be doing Beyond the Gates on Election Day 2024, he asked, ‘Can you do both?’ I said yes, technically—but the shows are 2,000 miles apart.” Despite the logistical challenges, GH was able to schedule his return.
