General Hospital Spoilers: Brandon Barash Should Return for This Reason
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about life in the fictional town of Port Charles, it’s that no one is ever truly gone—even when it seems like the door has closed for good. That’s why so many General Hospital fans are eager to see Johnny Zacchara make a comeback!
The character was last portrayed by Brandon Barash, who was let go from Days of Our Lives last year. Currently, he isn’t under contract with any major daytime television shows. This has sparked speculation that Johnny could return to take over for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), a move many longtime fans would love to see.
Fans remember how disappointed Barash was when his contract on Days of Our Lives wasn’t renewed. He originally took on the role of Stefan DiMera years ago, stepping in for Tyler Christopher at the time.
What’s Next in Port Charles?
Fans have been vocal on social media about the potential return. One wrote, “The Don of Port Charles can’t last forever. If he retires, someone has to take over the criminal operations—and who better than Johnny Zacchara?”
Another fan added, “Whether it’s Brandon Barash or a recast, Johnny should become the new kingpin. He has history with all the players in town and would be a worthy successor to Sonny and Jason, letting them step away from mob life.”
And yet another comment suggested, “Johnny can run things and bring in his own enforcer—a new version of Jason.”
Of course, fans will have to tune in every day to see how the story unfolds.
