EXCLUSIVE: Single mum-of-three Helen Flanagan has joined the celebrity dating app Raya following relationship struggles, admitting that dating can be challenging and saying, “I just want someone who loves me for who I am.”
Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has revealed she’s re-entering the dating scene by joining the exclusive celebrity app Raya. The 33-year-old actress, who ended her engagement to footballer Scott Sinclair in 2022, admitted she’s experienced her fair share of ups and downs while searching for “the one.”
Since her split from Scott, with whom she shares three children, Helen’s love life has often made headlines. She was later linked to Robbie Talbot after appearing alongside him on Celebs Go Dating, though the relationship ended before things got serious.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Helen said: “My life is a bit of chaos, and I don’t seem to have much luck, do I? My friends joke that I’m like a real-life Bridget Jones — which I don’t mind — but honestly, I don’t feel like I need a man. I’ve got my amazing children, and they’re enough.”
Despite the chaos, Helen admits she’s still a true romantic at heart. “I’m such a romantic — I love love! I adore romance and all that, but if it doesn’t happen soon, that’s okay. I think in about ten years I’ll probably get married, but there’s no rush. Maybe it’ll happen in my forties,” she said.
She also joked that her new dating profile should come with a “real-life Bridget Jones” warning. “I should probably write that on my Raya profile,” she laughed. “It’s just hard when you’re a mum of three — I’m not exactly going to head out in Manchester looking for guys, am I? Using a dating app suits me better; I can do it from home because, honestly, I can’t really be bothered to go out.”
Helen, who rose to fame as Rosie Webster on Coronation Street, says she simply wants someone who looks past the glitz and glamour. “I’m just a normal Northern girl, but being in the public eye makes things tricky sometimes. I want someone to love me for who I am. There are challenges to it — meeting people is harder, and I find dating quite difficult because I feel very guarded,” she explained.
Raya, often dubbed the “celebrity Tinder,” has been used by stars such as Channing Tatum, Harry Styles, and Cara Delevingne.
Whether Helen will meet her Prince Charming remains to be seen — but with her Bridget Jones-style outlook and Northern charm, she’s ready for whatever swipes come her way.
