I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here fans are dubbing EastEnders star Shona McGarty the jungle queen after Ant and Dec revealed she sneaked an air freshener into camp.
Ant and Dec have revealed how one I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant managed to smuggle a banned item into the jungle camp.
Since the show first launched in 2002, plenty of celebrities have tested the limits — from Dean McCullough sneaking in tea bags to Gillian McKeith’s unusual trick of hiding salt, herbs and spices in her underwear.
This year is no different, with stars like Martin Kemp, Ruby Wax, Eddie Kadi and Jack Osbourne forced to give up their home comforts as they survive on little more than rice and beans in the Australian outback.
Most recently, it came to light that Shona McGarty managed to bring air freshener into camp, following Alex Scott being caught out for using salt while cooking dinner, according to the Express.
After the football star was punished — costing the entire camp one of their hard-earned meal stars — the contestants were issued a strict warning to hand over any remaining banned items.
That’s when the former EastEnders star stunned her campmates by pulling out a can of air freshener.
Now, Ant and Dec have revealed exactly how she managed to get hold of it during an Instagram Live.
As reported by The Sun, Dec explained: “When you head down to the trials, there’s a small makeshift toilet for the celebs if they need to nip to the loo before starting.”
He continued: “So I think the air freshener was in or near the toilet area, and she just grabbed it.”
Fans were left baffled by Shona’s crafty move. One person wrote on X: “How on earth did Shona manage to sneak in a massive can of air freshener? ???”
Another viewer asked: “Can someone explain how Shona smuggled an entire air freshener into camp? This is the mystery of the season.”
A third fan added: “Shona wasn’t even the one caught with contraband — but air freshener? HAHAHAHA! How on earth did she manage that?”
One fan added: “I think we’re all confused about how Shona managed to sneak a can of air freshener in.”
Another agreed: “Shona pulling out a huge can of air freshener that no one even knew existed actually made me snort with laughter.”
After her “hilarious” behaviour, viewers are now backing Shona to go all the way, with one saying: “Shona to win after this.”
Another supporter declared: “That’s queen behaviour right there.”
