Emmerdale delivered a tense twist involving Dylan Penders during Thursday night’s episode.
The village has been thrown into chaos ever since criminals Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) arrived on the scene. As viewers know, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has been reluctantly running drugs for the pair in a desperate attempt to clear her boyfriend Dylan Penders’ (Fred Kettle) debt.
It soon emerged that Celia and Ray were also holding Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) hostage on their farm, along with several other enslaved workers.
This week, Dylan discovered where Bear was really being kept after Celia attempted to lure him into helping oversee the captives. Terrified, he rushed to tell April’s father, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), revealing the danger his daughter was in and urging him to alert the police.
During Thursday’s (December 4) extended episode, April finally confessed everything to Marlon and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), opening up about the ordeal she has been secretly enduring under Celia and Ray’s control.

Meanwhile, Dylan attempted to persuade Ray that Celia had been manipulating and using him. He insisted that if Ray went to the police, he could reunite with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and finally get a fresh start.
Ray appeared torn over the suggestion, but after wrestling with his conscience, he agreed to take Dylan to the police station. However, things didn’t play out the way Dylan expected.
Celia later turned up at Smithy Cottage, where she received a shocking phone call. Moments later, her phone displayed live video footage of Ray ploughing Dylan down with his car.

“My deepest sympathies, April,” Ray said coldly over the phone, while Celia darkly added, “She was warned… Ah, the beauty of live video calls.”
Is Dylan Penders dead in Emmerdale?
It appeared that someone had discovered Dylan collapsed on the ground, as viewers later learned he’d been rushed to Hotten General by ambulance.
At the hospital, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) explained, “He’s in surgery. The doctors said the injuries are severe and that he’d been lying there for some time. They’re honestly shocked he’s survived this long.”
He continued, “They told us to prepare ourselves — things aren’t looking good.”

Later on, Paddy and Mandy (Lisa Riley) informed April that Dylan had come through surgery, but he was in a coma because of how severe his injuries were. They also revealed that the medical team discovered drugs in his system.
“He’s still in intensive care, and they’ve warned us it could take some time,” Mandy explained.
With Dylan’s future still uncertain, Emmerdale viewers quickly voiced their worries online. One fan posted in a Facebook group: “Poor, poor Dylan. I’m absolutely heartbroken.”
Another commented, “I’ll be gutted if Dylan dies,” while a third added, “Tonight’s episode was utterly horrific. I cried the whole way through. Dylan has to pull through.”
A fourth viewer shared: “This storyline is a total nightmare. It honestly triggered a panic attack. I’ve had enough. I just hope Dylan survives.”
