“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Lisa Riley is set to appear on the ITV show, though she could be excused from some of the most harrowing Bushtucker Trials.”

The new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is almost here, with a fresh line-up of celebrities set to enter the Australian jungle and tackle Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s infamous Bushtucker Trials.
This year’s confirmed contestants include Emmerdale star Lisa Riley, Loose Women panellist Kelly Brook, Martin Kemp, Eddie Kadi, Alex Scott, Shona McGarty, and Jack Osbourne, according to ITV.
However, it has been revealed that Lisa may avoid some of the show’s most gruesome challenges.
The programme usually tests campmates in extreme ways — from swimming with crocodiles and facing terrifying heights to being locked in containers with creepy crawlies or hunting for stars amid snakes to earn food for the camp, reports OK!.

Contestants also face revolting food challenges, which can include eating everything from “vomit fruit” to spiders, fish eyeballs, or even animal genitalia.
However, Lisa is unlikely to take part in these trials, as her vegetarian diet would probably grant her an exemption.
Speaking about her upcoming jungle adventure, she said: “It’s going to be ace! I’ll be there for everyone, but I don’t suffer fools gladly. My inner Mandy Dingle will come out if someone is mean!”
In 2019, the show made major changes to its trials after receiving criticism over contestants being forced to eat live insects.

Wildlife campaigner Chris Packham has welcomed the change, calling it “a first step.” Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, he said: “I hope this marks the beginning of meaningful change. What has long concerned me about the programme is its portrayal of animals in the wrong way.
“There was never any doubt that forcing contestants to eat live invertebrates was both abusive and exploitative for entertainment purposes.”
The comments come as I’m A Celebrity bosses promise this year will be the “toughest” yet. Executive producer Olly Nash told The Daily Mail: “It’s a demanding and gruelling show, and there’s nothing wrong with emphasising that.
“We want to see more celebrities earning their keep—that’s the key point. More celebrities will be participating in the trials than ever before, making it even more competitive.”

“Last year, we had a fantastic, cheerful cast who came together and really enjoyed their time. This year, they’ll have to work harder, compete more, and take a bigger role in camp life.”
In addition, the show has introduced another change to prevent contestants from facing repeated Bushtucker Trials. A new rule limits them to two challenges in a row, meaning they cannot be voted in for a third consecutive trial.
A source explained: “This is a great move for fans, as it stops the same people from doing all the trials and gives us a chance to see new favourites emerge. It’s also a win for the celebrities, who are keen to show more of their personalities.”
