Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife, Liz, have been hard at work on their 120-acre farm, with exciting plans ahead.
In 2021, the former soap actor and his family bought the sprawling Cheshire property and have been documenting their farming journey ever since on their ITV show Fletcher’s Family Farm.
Earlier this year, the family faced a devastating setback when a fire swept through their property, forcing them to temporarily leave their home.
However, Kelvin and Liz have since returned to their cherished farm and are fully embracing country life once again.
During Thursday’s episode of Lorraine, the couple shared an update with the ITV host about how things have been since the blaze.
Liz said: “You’ve just got to keep going, and that’s exactly what we’ve done! We’ve added more cows and expanded the sheep herd too.”
“We’ve had a touch of romance on the farm — our very first wedding took place, and it was absolutely beautiful. There’s plenty more to look forward to,” Liz shared.
Kelvin went on to reveal that there will be some new arrivals in the spring, as breeding season is now in full swing, according to The Mirror.
Jokingly, he said: “Speaking of sheep, it’s mating season at the moment — and just to clarify, that’s not me and Liz, it’s the sheep!
“We’re getting the tup ready because we’re already preparing for spring, when we should have some new lambs arriving. Right now, the focus is on making sure our male sheep are ready to go out and meet the females.”
Although fans will have to wait a few more months to see new updates from the farm, they can stay tuned to the latest events through the couple’s show, which is now in its third season.
However, Kelvin and Liz teased some exciting things to come, including a one-off special and festive episodes to mark the Christmas season.
Speaking on Lorraine, Liz shared her excitement about their upcoming show, Fletcher’s Country Workshop, explaining that it will offer viewers a closer look at parts of farming life that don’t usually get much attention.
She went on to say: “We’re doing renovations, restorations, baking traditional recipes — and who doesn’t love a bit of decorating and painting? I’m absolutely obsessed with it!
“We get to show that side of life on the farm, and I’m so excited. It’s coming out in December as a one-off special, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Kelvin then jumped in, adding: “Speaking of Christmas, we’ve just finished filming a Christmas special. I can’t give anything away or I’ll get told off!
“But yes, we’ve been filming a festive episode as we get ready for our very own Christmas celebration here on the farm.”
