“Coronation Street fans are speculating that Ken Barlow could start a romance with a fellow cobbles resident.”

Coronation Street icon Ken Barlow could be heading for a new romance, say fans.
The soap legend, portrayed by William Roache, has been a fixture on the cobbles since his first appearance in 1960, when Roache was just 28 years old — and it didn’t take long for him to become a fan favourite.
As the show’s longest-serving character, Ken has featured in countless major storylines, and it’s safe to say the Weatherfield heartthrob has had one of the most eventful love lives on the cobbles.
Over the years, Ken has dated numerous women and been married four times. In 1962, he wed Valerie Tatlock (Anne Reid), who tragically died from an electric shock at home. He later married Janet Reid (Judith Barker) in 1972.

Keeping busy, Ken has fathered four children: Lawrence (Linus Roache), Susan, Peter Barlow (Joanna Foster), and Daniel (Rob Mallard), along with his adopted daughter, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
However, Ken is perhaps best remembered for his long-standing relationship with Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride). The couple had an on-and-off romance spanning many years and were married twice, first in 1981 and again in 2005.

Tragically, Deirdre passed away in 2015, leaving Ken devastated. She had been expected home for her 60th birthday, but instead, her friend arrived to deliver the heartbreaking news to Ken and Tracy that Deirdre had died that morning.
Now, fans are speculating that Ken may be set for a surprising new romance, potentially finding love once again — this time with another resident of the cobbles.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, some viewers have suggested that newcomer Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) could be Ken’s next love interest.

In Friday’s episode (October 31), the two met for the first time at Ken’s home when his granddaughter, Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), offered Maggie a bowl for a Halloween party.
Noticing a spark between Ken and Maggie, one viewer commented: “A Ken and Maggie romance is on the horizon.” Another added: “I thought so too.” Reflecting the same excitement, a third wrote: “Go on, Ken!” while a fourth said: “That would be such a sweet relationship!”
