Coronation Street fans are convinced Todd Grimshaw could face a shocking exit in a heartbreaking death twist.
This year on the soap, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) made his debut and quickly began a romance with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). However, it later emerged that Theo was married to Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and that they had two children together.
In a sad revelation, Theo confided in Todd that he had spent much of his life in the closet and had even been forced to undergo conversion therapy when he was younger.
Eventually, the truth about Theo and Todd came out, and their relationship quickly became serious. Hoping to start a new chapter together, Theo and Todd moved into their own place on the street.
However, in recent months, the storyline has taken a darker turn as the soap tackles domestic abuse within a same-sex relationship. Theo’s behaviour has grown increasingly controlling, and he has been trying to cut Todd off from his close friend, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).
The abuse has also escalated to physical violence on several occasions. This week, it was revealed that the show will air a special episode centered on Theo and Todd.
Coronation Street boss Kate Brooks recently said: “By the time the story truly unfolds, Todd is in a position where he feels deeply indebted to Theo. It’s at this stage that Theo’s true nature comes to light. He’s a dark character who will manipulate Todd and is very skilled at gaslighting him.”
With even more drama on the horizon, heartbroken fans are speculating that Todd could be facing an exit. In a shocking twist, they believe he might be killed off—but not at Theo’s hands.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: “This is not going to end well for Todd. Don’t go back to Theo—he’s terrible.” Another suggested that Billy Mayhew could accidentally kill Todd, following news that actor Daniel Brocklebank is set to leave the soap.
They wrote: “I think Billy might accidentally kill Todd, maybe during a fight with Theo, and end up in prison. I’m certain of it.” A third added: “So is Billy being killed off just a red herring? Could it actually be Todd?”—referring to recent reports about Billy’s exit.
Others agreed, with one fan writing: “That would be quite the twist!” Another shared their heartbreak: “If Todd dies, I’ll be devastated.” A sixth chimed in: “Same here.”
