Emmerdale has revealed a dark new twist sparking conflict between two families.
Emmerdale has sparked a new feud between the King and Tate families after a shocking violent incident.
During Wednesday’s episode (October 8), proud stepmum Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) was thrilled to discover that her son, Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce), had developed a romantic interest in Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison).
However, Nicola was left stunned when she received a call from Carl’s school informing her that he had been assaulted by another student.
Moments later, Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) and her partner Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) also got a call from a teacher revealing that Dawn’s son, Lucas Taylor (Noah Ryan Aspinall), had attacked a classmate — and they quickly realized that Carl was the victim.
Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) was unable to get his adoptive son, Lucas, to reveal the reason behind the altercation, and Joe had no luck either. As a result, Dawn insisted that Lucas apologise to Carl.
While Dawn and Nicola argued over their sons’ fight, tensions quickly escalated between the two mothers.
Nicola accused Dawn’s chaotic personal life and her relationship with Joe of influencing Lucas’s behaviour, while Dawn tried to persuade her son to say sorry to Carl.
“I’m not sorry. I’m glad I hit him,” Lucas said defiantly, as Carl avoided making eye contact with him.
After Nicola called Lucas a “jealous little bully,” he and Dawn left to go home.
Nicola then reassured Carl that he’d be safe once Lucas was expelled, though Carl didn’t seem entirely convinced. She also worried that Kim Tate (Claire King) might step in and take Lucas’s side in the feud.
Emmerdale viewers were left puzzled by Lucas’s attack on Carl, with one person posting on X: “What has wee Carl done? #Emmerdale.”
Another viewer asked: “What did Carl do? #Emmerdale,” while a third commented: “They should ask Lucas WHY he hit Carl — there must be a reason. #Emmerdale.”
At first, the parents brush off the boys’ fight as a typical schoolyard disagreement, but the reality is far more sinister.
In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, the real reason behind Lucas’s attack on Carl will finally come to light.
It will be revealed that Carl got into trouble for sharing an inappropriate image of Lucas’s sister, Clemmie — prompting Lucas to lash out in anger to defend her.
